![]() We took all of the ease of use and powerful design options from Comic Life’s lettering tools and brought them to Comic Draw for Schools. Once the artwork is done students are going to want to letter that comic, and we’ve got that covered. ( All illustrations courtesy of Jen Julian) Students can keep adding pages until they make an entire comic book or graphic novel! No more juggling apps and image files! Students will also find a tool that lets them quickly layout the panels on their page, guides to help them keep a perfect perspective and, of course, layers to let them build up their drawing or safely experiment with alternative ideas. Then when students are happy with the design they can switch to the inking and coloring interface and finish it off with a variety of brushes. ![]() Within the app students will find a digital sketchpad, perfect for experimenting panel concepts. We designed this app specifically for aspiring comic artists. Comic Draw for Schools has everything students require: brushes, fonts and tools to make creating cartoons and comics a fun and easy learning experience. Comic Draw for Schools helps students learn about sequential storytelling and allows for student expression. Poppletwas initially an ‘ehh?’ sort of app, mainly as previous person using it hadn’t grasped the way it was designed to work and had left me a false trail to follow, but once I ignored what they had done I realised it was a form of mind mapping software with easy use photo adding ability.Give your students the power to create their own graphic stories with Comic Draw for Schools…Ĭomic Draw for Schools is perfect for creative learning aiding students to develop planning, conceptual thinking and design skills. Puppet Pals app was very simple to use, and would allow children to make simple animations with recorded sound to show their views and opinions on topics, great for a fast fun jigsaw demonstration. We also experimented with the university ipads, which came overloaded with apps, making the distraction factor great again, but once we got organised (trainee teachers organised… what a hoot!) and started experimenting with a few, we started to find the benefits of them. RE online is a good resource for teaching RE as it has plenty of information and virtual tours available for helping with the actual lessons, re:quest is very similar in it’s available information. A word on the internet, even with schools firewalls and protocols set up, a google research involving religion can throw up some extreme views and video’s, so if the class are going to be doing research online, they will need major supervision on their research. ![]() ![]() One of the major factors that came up during our research/playing was that it is easy to get distracted when you have too many options to explore, so with children the idea would be to focus them more onto a few apps or a limited internet research. Today’s session in RE was about how to make the best of using ICT within an RE lesson. The finished videos can be uploaded to Youtube, or many social media websites, though the program takes along time to compress the created video for uploading, that little test one we produced took some 5 minutes to do.Īnimation, Computing, cross-curricular, Images | Anywhere that a story can be told, a report needs writing, or information passing on to somebody else, it could be done as a quick animation to increase the ownership, and fun in producing all of these. This is a good little program for using in the classroom, it’s simple to use and gives instant results, very visual with a pleasant style to the animations, children will be able you use it quickly and with good results. We had a few problems with either the ipad or the program, not really sure, but struggled to get it to go online, in the end we made this small test animation, just a few seconds long, but with more familiarity with the program, and a bit more time to play with the ipads settings it should be easily fixed. The one I played with this week was Videoscribe a program that allows you to put together a storyboard with timings and text, images from the programs picture bank, or imported pictures, then it creates a hand drawn animation from that. ![]() Some of them I have used before, like Comic Life, Storybird and Photopeach, but many others are new to me. This week, and the new two I believe, we are looking at animation software you use in schools. ![]()
